Fashion and interior design trends may evolve on parallel paths. Gold, silver, bronze or copper mixes in jewelry have been an accepted fashion statement for decades. Cartier may have brought it to the mainstream in the 1970’s with Love bracelets and bands featuring yellow gold, white gold and rose gold. Today it’s a classic look. The concept has been used more cautiously in interiors, but it is now trending strong. Mixing metals doesn’t have to be a bold choice. Select a dominant metal like bronze and accent it with matte gold. Use your color scheme as a guide to integrate wall coverings, interesting textiles and a mix of metal finishes and textures to add character and interest to your interior.

Color is one of the many things that Global Views does best. From product assortment, merchandising, marketing, and market attire, we are known and trusted to liven up a showroom or building or home with color. Buyers and designers look to GV for trends and inspiration in color. It is one of the most fun parts of our work.
We thought we would share a few color facts, as we will soon be heading to markets organized around color and style. (See attachment after you finish this short message.)
Colors are interpreted by the chemicals and electrical signals in our brains in ways unique to that color. Each of us will have unique biological and sociological responses to color. We all have emotional, physical, and intellectual reactions to even the most subtle shifts in colors. These will change throughout our life time.
So as you are out and about or surfing the internet, start noticing how you react to colors you come across and see if you can
determine how the user selected the color to tell their story better. How can we use it to better communicate through our design?
Global Views tells it’s global color story in a powerful, universally understood language. Kuddos to those who asset in crafting that story for us.

The perspective of a product developer might be to view everything with an eye for beauty and the ability to hone in on unique details that the rest of us might miss. Inspiration is constant with these creatives. They see the big picture and the details that might go unnoticed by the rest of us.
The talented Product Development teams for Global Views and Studio A Home are currently wrapping up their extensive two month world tour, in Portugal. Their photos will take us on a virtual tour of an area of Portugal that provides insight to how travel translates to product:

The team had always envisioned what could be done with these finial/obelisk shapes, and finally got them to come together as products – during their trip last year. We look forward to getting the team back home from their 2015 world travels to see what is next…

the NERLEI Award
Yesterday, while in Portugal, CEO David Gebhart received a prestigious award from the NERLEI Association.
Global Views was nominated for this award by ALL the factories we work with in Portugal, and recognized for having worked with numerous Portuguese factories for over 19 years, contributing to the creativity, economy and working lives of the community.
A celebratory dinner followed with all in attendance overlooking the city of Leiria – on top of a hill – with the original stone-walled fort in the background.
To be recognized by such a prestigious organization is quite an honor.
Cheers to David and Global Views!
